Source Water Protection Awards

SCWA 1st Annual Source Water Protection Awards

The Suffolk County Water Authority, the Long Island Pine Barrens Society, The Nature Conservancy and the Long Island Neighborhood Network introduce the 1st annual Source Water Protection Awards. This awards ceremony aims to recognize individuals, groups, businesses, educational and research institutions and governments actively leading or working towards ensuring the quality and quantity of our drinking water for current and future generations.

A well-maintained and protected water supply is critical to the success of any community. The organizations recognize the importance of water protection and aim to award those preserving this necessity.

Four award categories will accredit those achieving or striving to achieve water protection and conservation.

Individual Source Water Protection Achievement
Organizational Source Water Protection Achievement
Educational and Research Source Water Protection Award
Government Source Water Protection Award

In order to ensure the integrity of the award process and to fully inform members of the review committee, all nominations must include a cover letter stating the relationship, if any, between nominator or nominator’s organization, and the proposed nominee. The nominee form must be completed and returned to the Suffolk County Water Authority, Source Water Protection Awards, P.O. Box 37, Oakdale, NY 11769 by August 29, 2008.
